Veterinary Surgery in Warren, New Jersey

Precision. It's not just a name.
It's How We Practice.

Precision Veterinary Surgery is an independently owned surgical center in Warren, NJ built around individualized care, meticulous technique, and comprehensive care for every patient from initial consultation through recovery graduation. We offer orthopedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, laparoscopic procedures, and advanced diagnostics performed with the preparation, focus, and attention to detail that our brand demands.

Why Precision

Where Do Pet Owners in the Tri-State Area Go for Veterinary Surgery?

For most pet owners, options for access to advanced surgeries come down to two paths: your primary veterinarian, who may not offer the procedure, or a specialty hospital with the expertise but the overhead that comes with it. Precision was built to offer a third path: advanced surgical capability in an independently owned practice where fewer patients, meticulous technique, and unhurried communication are the standard. Designed to deliver advanced procedures with less stress and more comfort.

What changes when you design a space just for surgery and advanced recovery?

At Precision, we focus exclusively on scheduled surgical procedures. That means no urgent walk-ins, no crowded exam rooms, and no triage cases pulling attention away when your pet deserves undivided focus.

This is outpatient veterinary care, thoughtfully built from the ground up: a calm, expertly equipped surgical center, providing advanced, cutting-edge care for safer procedures, smoother recoveries, and a more reassuring experience for everyone involved - without the stress or cost of a traditional specialty hospital. Your consultation is a conversation. We explain what we're seeing, walk through your surgical and non-surgical options, and give you the room to decide on your own timeline. Dr. Staiger performs all of his surgeries each day with deliberate focus and thorough preparation. Recovery planning, timelines, pain management, and rehabilitation, are all part of the conversation before surgery is ever scheduled. Patients receive comprehensive pain prevention, including long-acting nerve blocks providing up to 72 hours of targeted pain relief after surgery. How your pet feels in the first few days of recovery matters as much as the procedure itself.

Precision is independently and family-owned. That's not just a point of pride, it's what makes our model possible.

Our Philosophy

Surgery Is Our Craft. Precision Is Our Standard.

I don't measure the success of my day by how many surgeries I complete. I measure it by how well each one is done.

Dr. Ben Staiger — Founder, Precision Veterinary Surgery

Dr. Ben Staiger built Precision Veterinary Surgery in New Jersey with more than 15 years of experience delivering advanced surgery and after seven years of surgical training at Michigan State University, including an internship, a residency, and two specialized fellowships (surgery and interventional radiology). His record includes over 6,000 TPLO surgeries, thousands of orthopedic and soft tissue procedures on dogs and cats, roughly 4,000 oncologic cases, and hundreds of minimally invasive surgeries across the tri-state area.

But volume alone doesn't explain why pet owners return to him whenever one of their pets requires more surgery. Dr. Staiger is meticulous by nature: individual care, precise incisions, thorough pain management, and comprehensive recovery monitoring.

He left high-volume surgical environments specifically because the pace can compromise the standard he holds himself to. Precision is the practice he built so that standard wouldn't have to bend.

What We Do

Veterinary Surgical Services in Warren, New Jersey

We keep advanced surgical care accessible by focusing on what we do best. That means a defined set of procedures, performed routinely, prepared for thoroughly, and known deeply. If your dog or cat is facing a surgical decision, start here. Each procedure links to detailed information including recovery timelines, pain management, and what to expect at home.

Orthopedic surgery for dogs

Orthopedic Surgery for Dogs

Cruciate ligament injuries, luxating patellas, and broken bones are among the most common reasons dog owners seek an orthopedic surgeon in New Jersey. Dr. Staiger has performed more than 11,000 orthopedic procedures, including over 6,000 TPLO surgeries, and approaches each one with the same focus on alignment, stability, and long-term function.

We know recovery can be more stressful than the surgery itself. Most dogs begin partial weight-bearing within the first two weeks after TPLO surgery, with a typical recovery timeline of 8 to 12 weeks. We walk through every stage of recovery before recommending surgery so you know exactly what to expect at home, and we guide you through each step again after surgery is completed. We offer a specialized Physical Therapy & Rehab program with under-water treadmill, state of the art equipment, and acupuncture to enhance recovery and pain management.

Soft tissue and oncologic surgery

Soft Tissue and Oncologic Surgery

Mass removals, splenectomies, foreign body surgery, and other soft tissue procedures make up a significant part of our practice. For pets facing a potential cancer diagnosis, Dr. Staiger walks owners through staging, surgical options, and realistic expectations so you can decide what's right for your pet and your family, based on complete information and careful guidance. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to veterinary cancer care and best solutions are achieved through a collaborative approach.

Minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery

Minimally Invasive and Laparoscopic Surgery for Dogs and Cats

Laparoscopic procedures mean smaller incisions, less pain, and significantly faster recovery. They also require specialized equipment, training, and experience that most practices outside of referral centers don't have. Precision is one of the few independent veterinary surgical facilities in New Jersey and the New York metro area equipped to offer these procedures routinely.

Same-day urgent veterinary surgery

Same-Day Urgent Veterinary Surgery

Some surgical situations can't wait. Precision offers same-day surgery for stable patients facing urgent situations like foreign bodies, splenic masses, or wounds that need immediate attention. Call us and we'll coordinate directly with your veterinarian to move quickly.

Diagnostics

CT Scans for Dogs and Cats in New Jersey

Not every CT scan requires a surgical consultation, and not every diagnostic question requires a referral hospital.

Precision offers CT imaging for dogs and cats as a standalone service in Warren, NJ.

01

Outpatient CT

Your veterinarian orders the scan. We perform it and send results directly back to them for next steps. Your pet is monitored throughout and home the same day.

02

CT with Surgical Consultation

Dr. Staiger performs the CT and reviews findings and next steps with you, from imaging results and through a complete treatment plan.

Transparent Pricing

How Much Does Veterinary Surgery Cost in New Jersey?

We don't think you should need a consultation just to find out whether surgery is within reach.

Precision is independently and family-owned, which means we do focus on fewer things, do them well, and operate with significantly lower overhead than multi-specialty referral hospitals. No corporate investors, no emergency department to staff around the clock, no layers of administrative cost between you and your surgeon. That allows us to offer advanced surgical procedures at a price point that reflects our efficiency, not someone else's infrastructure.

Every case is different, but you deserve a starting point. Common questions like how much does TPLO surgery cost or what does luxating patella surgery cost or is a CT scan affordable, are exactly why we publish starting surgery prices.
